Raised on the island of Tiree, Daniel was one of many youngsters fortunate to be taught accordion by the legendary Gordon Connell alongside his brother Martin and friend Angus MacPhail (Skipinnish). On leaving Tiree, Daniel chose initially to pursue a career in sport that led him to being a youth coach for Glasgow Rangers for 4 years before he made the commitment to music full-time in 2007. Daniel is also a co-founder and director of the multi-award winning Tiree Music Festival as well as Argyll’s largest live music event, Oban Live.
Daniel recently received a Masters in Business Administration with distinction from the University of Strathclyde as part of the global MBA25 corporate programme.
